CONTRIBUTION PROGRAMS

KDF’s professionally-managed Endowment Fund exists to fund KDF’s programs, such as grants and scholarships. The Fund is the result of both club and individual contributions, as described below.

The Case Van Kleef Fellowship

Picture
A “Van Kleef Fellowship” permanently honors an individual who has dedicated outstanding time or service to Kiwanis.

A Van Kleef Fellowship may be bestowed at the request of an individual, club, division, or the district.  Kiwanians and others can be recognized as a “Case Van Kleef Fellow” or a “Distinguished Case Van Kleef Fellow” for donations of $1,000 or $2,000, respectively. All contributions received toward a Van Kleef Fellowship are designated for the Endowment Fund. The “Case Van Kleef Fellowship” is named for Mr. Case Van Kleef, a Kiwanian who has contributed endlessly to Kiwanis, and who has achieved greatly. In addition to serving as the Kiwanis International President, Case Van Kleef served two consecutive terms as the President of the Kiwanis District Foundation at a critical time in its development, providing much needed leadership.

The KDF Legacy Society was created in 2002 as an individual charitable giving and recognition program. Kiwanians and their families can leave their legacy to Kiwanis through this program.

Annual Kiwanis Club Giving Campaign

Each year, KDF asks Kiwanis Clubs to contribute according to its membership level or as it is able. Currently, clubs are asked to contribute a minimum of $5.00 per member from its service or charitable giving account. Funds received are dedicated to both the Endowment Fund and discretionary accounts, including KDF’s Scholarship and Grant Programs. All contributing clubs receive a banner patch and other recognition. Awards are given to top per capita and total amount donor clubs.

Tribute/Memorial Program

This program is used to honor the memory of others or convey the sentiments of donors on anniversaries, birthdays, or other special occasions. Contributions at the discretion of the donor can be given for general purpose or a restricted or specific purpose.
